Day 1: Šibenik-Zlarin 4 NM
Check into your charter in Šibenik marina and head out toward the island of Zlarin. On your way there, you will pass through St. Anthony’s Canal and get a good view of the Šibenik archipelago.
Zlarin is a small island near Šibenik that doesn’t even have cars on it. The entrance to the Zlarin marina is easy to find in a large bay. The island is famous for coral reefs, and check out the amazing coral jewellery.
If not Zlarin, you may choose to sail from Šibenik to the uninhabited island of Tijat and use a buoy for the night.
Day 2: Zlarin-Kaprije 6 NM
It will be a short sail from Zlarin to Kaprije, a small island in the Šibenik archipelago. Inhabited by only 100 people who usually grow olives and grapes, this island doesn’t have cars.
You may choose between mooring on buoys in the more popular option of Kaprije Cove or the smaller Nozdra Bay.
Both options have restaurants available on location where you can enjoy a pleasant meal.
For a quieter experience, you can moor in the inlet of Borovnjaci on the island of Kakan.
Day 3: Kaprije - Kornati Islands, 15 NM
The archipelago of Kornati Islands consists of nearly 100 islands and a few smaller islets. Many of them are uninhabited.
You will need a ticket to enter the Kornati Islands National Park, available for purchase in advance in Šibenik at a lower price or directly upon arrival from park officials.
Enjoy your day sailing around the national park and go to the island of Ravni Zakan to spend the night and try the best of local cuisine in Konoba Zakan.
Day 4: Kornati Islands, Dugi Otok 10 NM
Sail out from Ravni Zakan in the direction of north, along the large island of Kornat. You have several options to stop for the night. The first option is the island of Katina, where you can find anchorage in front of Restaurant Mare, one of Kornati Island’s oldest restaurants.
Your other option is mooring at a buoy in the bay of Telašćica Park. You need to buy a ticket in order to spend the night in the park, which is available for purchase from park authorities. If you would prefer to spend the night in a marina, continue north along Dugi Otok until you reach the marina in Sali.
Day 5: Katina or Dugi Otok—Žut or Murter
Katina-Žut 4 NM
Katina-Murter 15 NM
Žut – Murter 10 NM
Leaving the island of Katina or Dugi Otok, you can sail shortly to the island of Žut or continue to the island of Murter.
If you choose to visit Žut, you can drop anchor or use a buoy in the cove of Hiljača. The island itself has many small, hidden coves and inlets where you can spend a quiet day on the beach. It also has several restaurants and a supermarket in the ACI Marina.
Murter, your second option, is closer to your base in Šibenik, and Marina Hramina is a very popular and well-loved location on the island to rest up and have fun. While there, pick up some famous local olive oil.
Day 6: Murter, Krka National Park, 15 NM
Having chosen Murter for your destination the previous day, we recommend sailing south along the coast, returning to the Bay of Šibenik, and sailing up the river Krka. You will find anchorage in a marina in Skradin, and from there take the water taxi to the park. Enjoy the clear waters and the famous seven waterfalls.
If you spent the night on the island of Žut, sail to the nearby Vrgada island and enjoy the famous golden beaches.
Day 7: Skradin or Vrgada-Šibenik, 8 NM – 15 NM
It’s a short cruise from Skradin to your home base in Šibenik. Before you leave, take the time to explore the hiking trails as well as the archaeological sites of Krka National Park.
Sailing from Vrgada to Šibenik will take a couple of hours, so enjoy the last day out at sea. Take a pit stop in Murter, or consider dropping anchor in one of the more secluded bays of the Šibenik archipelago and going for a swim before returning to the marina. With Charter in Croatia, you have the freedom to explore these hidden gems at your own pace, making the most of your final moments on the water.
Regardless of the direction you come from, having returned your charter to the home base, take the time to explore the city of Šibenik and enjoy its architectural beauty and rich history.
Goodbye for now, until our paths cross again.
