Harnessing Renewable Energy
Solar Power: Integrated solar panels maximise energy capture across hulls, masts, and curved carbon bimini roofs. A pioneering heat recovery system repurposes energy for onboard heating.
Hydro Generation: Propellers generate electricity while sailing, recharging batteries and powering onboard systems.
Wind Energy: Turbines produce steady power day and night, ensuring energy independence.
Energy Efficiency & Smart Engineering
Hull Optimisation: Advanced hydrodynamic design minimises drag for better efficiency.
Weight Reduction: Carbon fibre and lightweight lithium batteries enhance stability and performance.
Thermal Balance: Sustainable insulation and battery-powered air-conditioning maintain comfort while reducing energy use.
Energy Management: Smart systems optimise power consumption, with an eco-mode under development for even lower energy use.
Eco-Friendly Water & Material Solutions
Smart Water Management: High-efficiency watermakers and rain collection systems reduce plastic waste and enhance sustainability.
Sustainable Materials: Basalt and linen fibre replace traditional composites, offering strength with minimal environmental impact.
Recyclable Sails: Fully recyclable sailcloths are repurposed into durable accessories.
Non-Toxic Bottom Paint: Silicon-based coatings protect against marine growth while reducing drag and enhancing efficiency.
Sustainable Decking: Ethically sourced teak, cork, and non-PVC synthetic teak provide long-lasting, recyclable alternatives.
With innovation and eco-conscious design, Sunreef Yachts is leading the way toward a cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable yachting future.
Sunreef Yachts introduces the ULTIMA line—an advanced fleet of hybrid catamarans that blends the sleek performance of monohulls with the space and stability of multihulls. With a low draft, sporty profile, and streamlined hull design, ULTIMA models offer superior marina access and enhanced efficiency for modern yachting adventures.
The Vision Behind ULTIMA
The ULTIMA concept was born from a desire to combine the agility and visual appeal of monohulls with the comfort and openness of multihulls. Its low-profile silhouette and hydrodynamic lines minimize drag, resulting in impressive speed, maneuverability, and energy savings. Fold-down bulwarks, a semi-open saloon, and expansive aft areas create seamless transitions between the yacht and the sea.
Launch & Production
The first ULTIMA model, the ULTIMA 55, made its global debut at the 2025 Dubai Boat Show. It was built in Sunreef’s cutting-edge shipyard in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE—an impressive feat given the facility became fully operational just one year prior. This milestone marked a collaboration with local suppliers and showcased the shipyard’s capabilities on an international stage.
Technology at Sea
A key highlight of the ULTIMA 55 is its use of hydrofoil technology. Three foils beneath the hull lift the yacht above the waterline at speed, reducing drag and allowing for smoother, faster, and more fuel-efficient cruising. This also enhances onboard stability by minimizing hull contact with waves.
The yacht’s shallow draft makes it perfect for beach landings, shallow bays, and tight marinas—adding both adventure and convenience to the cruising experience.
Smart Space & Design
ULTIMA catamarans feature hydraulic fold-out terraces, walkaround decks, and flexible interior layouts. The ULTIMA 44 and 55 are ideal for day trips or weekend escapes, while larger models like the ULTIMA 66, 88, and 111 offer more cabin space, optional flybridges, and personalized configurations for longer journeys.
Hybrid Power & Efficiency
The ULTIMA range offers two propulsion options: dual thermal engines (600 or 800 HP) or a hybrid diesel-electric system supported by rooftop solar panels and high-capacity battery banks. The hybrid configuration delivers smooth, silent cruising at low speeds—perfect for protected marine zones—and offers redundancy for long-distance reliability.
Sustainability at Its Core
In line with Sunreef’s commitment to sustainability, ULTIMA yachts incorporate eco-conscious materials such as recycled composites, flax-based laminates, and environmentally friendly foams. This reduces environmental impact without compromising luxury, strength, or aesthetics.
ULTIMA vs. Classic Sunreef Line
What sets ULTIMA apart from Sunreef’s traditional power catamarans? Primarily, its emphasis on speed and agility. With a narrower beam, ULTIMA yachts fit more easily into crowded marinas and standard berths. At the same time, they offer high-end features like a fold-out beach club, glass-walled jacuzzi, tender and jet ski garage, and a private owner’s foredeck suite.
What’s Next for ULTIMA?
Following the concept reveal, Sunreef secured its first sale of the ULTIMA 88 to powerboat racing legend Tim Ciasulli. Currently under construction in Ras Al Khaimah, this custom yacht will include a flybridge, extra cabins, and a full galley.
The industry is also buzzing about Sunreef’s collaboration with Brabus, a brand known for high-performance automotive engineering. While details are still under wraps, the partnership promises a new standard in yachting—merging cutting-edge marine design with automotive-level craftsmanship.
As Sunreef Yachts’ founder Francis Lapp put it:
"The ULTIMA range answers a new market demand for fast, comfortable, and energy-efficient cruising. It’s the perfect fusion of monohull spirit and multihull innovation."
Francis Lapp: The Visionary Behind Sunreef Yachts
At the heart of Sunreef Yachts stands its Founder and CEO, Francis Lapp, whose entrepreneurial spirit and innovative drive have shaped the shipyard’s global success.
Born in France in 1958, Lapp began his professional journey in the electrical and construction sectors, holding leadership roles within major industry players. His passion for motorsports led him to Poland in the 1990s, where he first arrived to participate in a rally organized by the Warsaw Automobile Club.
Struck by Poland’s dynamic growth potential, he soon decided to lay down business roots in the country. There, he built a thriving company specializing in the production of electrical components for internationally recognized brands. Over time, his operations expanded to include comprehensive design and installation services for electrical, HVAC, and sanitary systems in large-scale industrial projects.
Francis Lapp’s passion for sailing began in Poland, where he discovered small racing catamarans. This interest led him to purchase a larger cruising catamaran, which he based in Madagascar. As his fleet expanded, he launched a charter company in the Indian Ocean. Faced with growing client demand for more spacious, luxurious yachts—and a lack of suitable options on the market—he decided to build his own.
This decision marked the beginning of Sunreef Yachts, founded in Gdańsk, a city renowned for its shipbuilding expertise. In 2003, the company launched the world’s first 74-foot oceangoing catamaran with a flybridge, revolutionizing multihull design.
Today, Sunreef Yachts is a global leader in bespoke luxury catamarans—both sailing and power—regularly showcasing its innovations at top international boat shows from Monaco to Miami.
