On Saturday, May 17, the Benetti Shipyard in Livorno welcomed more than 2,000 guests to mark World Boating Day 2025, an event organised by the Superyacht Life Foundation. Now in its second year, the initiative highlights the global appeal of yachting and maritime life. This year's celebration was even more special as it coincided with the first edition of “Blu Livorno”, the Biennale of the Sea and Water—a four-day festival dedicated to the marine economy.
The event was a resounding success, with all activities fully booked. Visitors of all ages took part in interactive workshops, family-friendly events, and shipyard tours. Highlights included painting classes for kids, pilates by the sea, storytelling sessions, and guided visits aboard the sailing yacht from “Isola della Vela” and NATO’s research vessel Leonardo. A panel discussion with maritime students from ISYL (Italian Super Yacht Life Institute) added a professional touch, while the evening ended on a high note with a concert by the Mascagni Orchestra's young talents.

Benetti employees played a key role in the event, sharing insights into shipbuilding and life at the shipyard—offering a rare glimpse into the craftsmanship behind some of the world’s most prestigious yachts. The celebration wasn’t just about fun; it was an important opportunity to engage the next generation and promote future careers in the yachting and yacht charter industry.
During the closing ceremony at the Livorno Aquarium Terrace, Mayor Luca Salvetti and Benetti representative Ferdinando Pilli announced the symbolic return of five historic French naval cannons, currently housed at Benetti, to the people of Livorno. The gesture was met with applause and appreciation from the local community. In addition, the Vitelli family was honoured with the “To Those Who Love the Sea and Water” award for their dedication to maritime heritage.
Benetti’s involvement in World Boating Day 2025 further reinforced its commitment to promoting the world of luxury yacht charter, nurturing new talent, and celebrating its strong ties to the sea and the Livorno region.
