Off the coast of Çeşme in Türkiye, BAVARIA YACHTS, in collaboration with GENA YACHTS, put its latest innovation to the test—the new hardtop for the larger models in the BAVARIA C-Line. The verdict? Top marks across the board.
When Michael Müller, CEO of BAVARIA YACHTS; Udo Erbe, Product Manager for sailing yachts; and key partner GENA YACHTS come together for a weekend sailing trial, it signals something significant. Their destination: Port Alaçatı Marina, just south of Izmir. The yacht of choice was the new BAVARIA C46, fully equipped with the recently introduced hardtop option.
Ideal for sailing yacht charter experiences, this hardtop—now available on the BAVARIA C46, C50, and C57—offers enhanced comfort and practicality. Constructed in sleek GRP, it features a large sliding fabric roof for unobstructed views of the sails and versatile cockpit coverage. Whether under the sun or seeking shade, the setup adapts with ease.
Innovative Hardtop Enhances Comfort and Versatility for Sailing Yacht Charter Experiences
After several hours of sailing under perfect spring conditions, the feedback was clear. “It was pure sailing pleasure,” said product manager Udo Erbe. “The hardtop with its adjustable roof lets you enjoy sun or shelter as needed. The front windscreen acts like a sprayhood, offering excellent protection in windier conditions.”
For added convenience during marina stops, the hardtop can be enclosed with a camper cover featuring wide viewing windows, transforming the space into a cosy lounge. Integrated solar panels contribute to onboard energy efficiency, making it a smart choice for both private owners and charter operators.
The successful test reinforces BAVARIA’s commitment to innovation and comfort—qualities increasingly sought after in the sailing yacht charter market.
