When the sirens of nearly 50 yachts echoed across Split’s waterfront, it was more than just a spectacle—it was the sound of Croatia’s growing stature in the world of luxury yachting. From September 29 to October 1, the second edition of the CROYA Charter Show took over the city’s West Coast promenade as part of Split’s wider Nautical Festival, uniting top professionals from the global charter industry.
The event, hosted by the Croatian Yachting Association (CRO.Y.A.), brought together over 250 charter brokers, service providers, and industry leaders to explore the very best of Croatia’s crewed yacht offering. In just its second year, the show has already established itself as one of the most important B2B gatherings for the Adriatic region, positioning Croatia as a central hub for luxury maritime tourism.
A Celebration of Excellence at Sea
Despite a finale marked by cooler, rainy weather, spirits remained high. The final day was dedicated to announcing the winners of a series of competitions that had unfolded onboard the participating yachts. From gastronomy to design and mixology, these contests highlighted the creativity and professionalism that elevate the charter experience.
Culinary Competition: Thirteen yacht chefs showcased their skills, with Luka Vulić of the motor sailer Corsario taking the top prize. “This victory belongs to our entire crew—we’re like a family,” Vulić said, emphasising the role of cuisine in creating unforgettable charter journeys.
Table Design: Style and presentation proved equally vital. The crews of Son de Mar and Corsario shared first place for their imaginative table settings.
Infused Water Challenge: Innovation and freshness were the key ingredients, with Dražen Perkov from Friend’s Boat winning first place for his creative approach.
Cocktail Contest: Mixologist Marija Juretić of Amber One impressed the judges with what they described as “one of the most creative cocktails we’ve ever seen”, using breakfast leftovers in a sustainable twist.
More Than Competition—A Meeting of Minds
“While awards often influence client choices when booking a yacht, these competitions mean much more,” said CRO.Y.A. president Stipe Petričević. “They are about exchange, inspiration, and pushing each other forward as professionals. This is where knowledge is shared, and where the future of the industry is shaped.”
Split Shines as Croatia’s Nautical Capital
With its blend of Roman heritage, buzzing cultural life, and Adriatic charm, Split proved the perfect host. The city’s energy set the stage for meaningful networking and new partnerships, further reinforcing Croatia’s role as a premier destination for luxury yacht charters.
The 2025 edition outpaced its debut year, confirming a trend of growth and international recognition. With 47 yachts on display and a record turnout of global brokers, the show underscored the country’s ascent as a luxury yachting powerhouse.
Looking Ahead
As CRO.Y.A. emphasised, the event was not just about displaying yachts—it was about shaping the future of the industry. “The CROYA Charter Show is where new partnerships are born, where ideas are exchanged, and where the best of this industry comes to life. This is only the beginning of a much bigger story,” the association noted in its closing remarks.
With momentum building, all eyes are already on the 2026 edition. For now, the message from Split is clear: Croatia has anchored itself firmly on the global yachting map.
