Sarnico, October 21, 2025 – The latest evolution of Riva’s timeless runabout takes centre stage: the Aquariva Special, successor to the legendary Aquarama and one of the brand’s most emblematic models. With over 300 hulls launched in more than two decades, this new edition reinterprets a design classic for the modern era.
Staying faithful to the flowing lines and elegant proportions that defined its predecessors, the 10.07-metre Aquariva Special blends Riva’s rich heritage with contemporary refinement. The design, once again entrusted to Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta of Officina Italiana Design—the duo behind every Riva of the past 30 years—reflects a seamless dialogue between tradition and innovation, under the guidance of the Strategic Product Committee led by Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department.
The most visible transformation lies in the new windscreen, reshaped for a sleeker, more dynamic profile, and a reimagined stern platform, now wider and ergonomically curved for easier water access. Fine detailing echoes the craftsmanship of earlier models, from the polished handrail and cleats inspired by the Aquariva Super to the mahogany-like fibreglass accents that can match the hull’s colour palette.
At the bow, the navigation lights adopt the contemporary styling introduced on the Riva Anniversario, while the deck has been simplified for a clean, modern aesthetic. Inside, the cockpit becomes an open-air salon, centred around a U-shaped sofa in Sky fabric that converts from a sociable dining area for eight into a generous sunbathing zone. A power-operated bimini top offers shade at the touch of a button.
Forward, the helm station combines retro charm with cutting-edge functionality and is available with traditional analogue dials or dual Boeing displays with integrated navigation. The addition of joystick control brings fingertip precision when manoeuvring.
For the first time, the Aquariva can be equipped with a Seakeeper NG6 gyroscopic stabiliser, made possible through lighter hull construction using infusion lamination. Paired with Humphree interceptors for automatic trim control, the boat delivers exceptional stability underway or at anchor.
Propelled by twin 370 HP YANMAR 8LV engines with two-speed gearboxes, the Aquariva Special reaches 40.5 knots at top speed and cruises comfortably at 36 knots—remaining every bit as spirited as the name demands.
The model debuted at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival in a striking Petrol Blue finish, reaffirming Riva’s mastery of blending engineering precision with enduring style.
