Riva expands its legacy with the launch of Riva Cento, an exclusive open yacht produced in a strictly limited series of just twelve units. Designed as a collector’s piece, this special edition revisits the brand’s unmistakable elegance through a contemporary lens, blending heritage craftsmanship with modern functionality.
The project continues Riva’s long-standing collaboration with Officina Italiana Design, led by Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta, in close cooperation with the Ferretti Group’s Strategic Product Committee and Engineering Department. Together, they have created a yacht that remains instantly recognisable while introducing subtle yet meaningful evolutions.
Measuring 11.88 metres in length with a beam of 3.50 metres, Riva Cento presents a sleek, dynamic profile defined by smooth lines and a sporty stance. The twelve hulls are finished in either a deep metallic black or an elegant light aluminium grey, both chosen to accentuate the yacht’s refined proportions. Upholstery details reference classic automotive design from the 1950s and 1960s, with ribbed leather cushions available in warm biscuit tones or a fresh aquamarine-and-white combination, echoing the colour palette seen on previous limited editions.
A defining feature of Riva Cento lies at the stern, where an electro-hydraulic system lowers the transom to reveal integrated mahogany steps and two concealed chaise longues. With removable cushions, the area transforms effortlessly into a pair of sun loungers, creating an inviting sea-level lounge. Additional compartments discreetly house fenders and a Seabob, while a fully integrated retractable gangway simplifies boarding. Underwater lighting further enhances manoeuvring and mooring in low-light conditions.
Moving forward, a generous sunpad occupies the midship area, followed by a spacious cockpit arranged around a C-shaped sofa and a stainless-steel table topped in glossy lacquered mahogany. The table’s adjustable mechanism allows it to lower flush with the seating, converting the space into an additional sunbathing area. When required, a retractable bimini top, neatly concealed within the sofa backrest, provides shade at the touch of a button.
Practicality has been carefully integrated throughout the deck layout. Storage compartments for life jackets and footwear are positioned aft, while the units flanking the helm incorporate a dedicated cocktail preparation area, a drawer refrigerator, a sink, and a work surface. An insulated cooler on the starboard side ensures drinks remain perfectly chilled.
At the helm, two pilot seats to port and a co-pilot seat to starboard face a pair of Boeing displays measuring 15 and 24 inches, centralising navigation, engine data, stabilisation systems, and onboard entertainment. Manoeuvring is managed via a Volvo Penta joystick, complemented by an electric bow thruster for precise handling. An iconic searchlight mounted on the port side of the windscreen pays tribute to historic Riva models such as the Aquarama and Aquariva.
Exterior detailing continues the dialogue between past and present. Along the hull sides, a newly designed steel air-intake profile replaces the traditional grille, incorporating a polished mahogany insert adorned with the Riva name and star motifs—a subtle nod to vintage craftsmanship.
Below deck, the Riva Cento offers a surprisingly spacious and light-filled interior. The galley is positioned to starboard at the companionway entrance, while a bathroom with a separate shower occupies the port side. Forward, a large sofa follows the curvature of the hull and converts into a double berth using a removable central panel. Redesigned skylights and enlarged side windows flood the space with natural light, ensuring comfort during overnight stays.
Powered by twin Volvo Penta D6 440 Aquamatic Duoprop DPI engines, Riva Cento reaches a top speed of 40 knots and cruises comfortably at 31 knots (preliminary figures). Advanced trim optimisation software enhances efficiency and performance underway, while a Seakeeper NG6 gyroscopic stabiliser, fitted as standard, ensures stability both at anchor and while cruising.
With Cento, Riva delivers a yacht that honours its past while confidently embracing the present—an object of desire shaped by precision, elegance, and unmistakable Italian character.
