Aquila Catamarans has strengthened its position in both the power and sailing multihull markets after receiving two major industry awards for its latest models.
The Aquila 50 Sail was recognised with the International Multihull Show Premiere Award at the Multihull of the Year Awards, while the Aquila 46 Yacht won the Power Catamaran 12–16m category at the 2026 Yacht Style Awards.
The Yacht Style Awards, held on April 22 at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove, featured entries across 35 categories. Aquila was represented by several models this year, including the fishing-focused 36 Molokai, the new 45 Sport, the 50 Sail and the 46 Yacht.
Aquila 46 Yacht Award Highlights Catamaran Charter Croatia Appeal
The Aquila 46 yacht was selected by the judges for its ability to bring the comfort and feel of a larger yacht into a more manageable size range. As one of Aquila’s best-known and most successful global models, the 46 yacht combines offshore cruising ability with generous interior space, stable handling and a versatile twin-hull layout.
The model follows the popular Aquila 44 Yacht, which became one of the brand’s most important designs, with more than 200 units sold. Compared with its predecessor, the 46-yacht is longer and wider, giving the design team more room to improve comfort, circulation and onboard living areas.
Key features include a spacious flybridge, direct access from the flybridge to the foredeck, a cockpit bar and a full-beam owner’s suite. The master cabin has also been updated with a more open and luxurious bathroom arrangement, while the flybridge is designed with several separate zones for driving, dining and relaxing.
The 46-yacht also continues Aquila’s focus on innovation. Buyers can choose the optional Aquila Hydro Glide foil system, designed to improve efficiency and performance while cruising.
Built for Offshore Comfort
The Aquila 46 yacht has been developed as a capable cruising power catamaran with a strong emphasis on stability, space and confidence at sea. Its high freeboard and explorer-style profile give it a bold appearance, while its hull design and composite construction support efficient long-distance cruising.
Aquila uses advanced production methods for the model, including one-piece moulding for major structural components and resin-infused bulkheads and stringers. This approach is intended to improve consistency, strength and overall build quality.
Another distinctive feature of the yacht is its foam-cored bulbous bow, which helps improve forward lift and reduce pitching in rougher conditions. Combined with a beam of 23 feet 3 inches, the result is a yacht that offers impressive interior volume for its size.
Inside, panoramic windows bring in natural light and open views, while the layout is designed for both privacy and social living. The aft cockpit connects easily with the saloon, creating an indoor-outdoor entertaining area. Accommodation options include four- or five-cabin layouts, depending on owner requirements.
Aquila 50 Sail Opens New Options for Catamaran Charter Croatia
The second award went to the Aquila 50 Sail, the company’s first sailing catamaran. Launched at the Miami International Boat Show in 2026, the model represents an important expansion for Aquila beyond its established power catamaran range.
The 50 Sail was recognised by the Multihull of the Year Awards in the International Multihull Show Premiere category, which considers new models presented at the show. Judges praised the yacht as a confident entry into the sailing market, highlighting its design approach and practical onboard layout.
Developed with long-time design partner J&J Design, the Aquila 50 Sail carries many of the brand’s familiar styling and functional ideas into a sailing platform. The yacht places a strong focus on space, comfort and usability, with features aimed at owners who want relaxed cruising and easy movement around the boat.
A forward cockpit creates an additional social area, suitable for dining, lounging or enjoying the view while underway or at anchor. The design also includes access from the flybridge to the bow, improving circulation between key outdoor spaces.
Inside, the saloon and galley are arranged with a modern open feel, supported by large windows that increase natural light and visibility. Below deck, the yacht can be configured with four, five or six cabins, giving owners flexibility depending on whether the boat is intended for private use, charter or extended family cruising.
Hybrid Propulsion Option Available
The Aquila 50 Sail is offered with different propulsion choices to suit various cruising styles. Owners can select conventional diesel engines or opt for the Hybrid Ocean Drive system, which allows for quiet electric operation and reduced noise while at anchor.
This focus on flexible propulsion reflects a growing trend in the catamaran market, where owners are looking for greater comfort, lower noise levels and more efficient onboard systems.
Recognition Across Two Segments
For Aquila, the awards highlight progress in two important areas. The 46 Yacht continues the brand’s success in the power catamaran sector, while the 50 Sail signals a serious move into sailing catamarans.
Jean Raas, Aquila Catamarans’ Chief Product Officer, said the recognition reflects the work of the company’s design and production teams, as well as the response from owners who value versatility, comfort and carefully considered design.
With award-winning models in both power and sail categories, Aquila is positioning itself as a broader multihull brand, capable of serving owners across a wider range of cruising preferences.
