The world of power catamarans has a new heavyweight contender. At the International Multihull Show in La Grande-Motte, the Aventura 56 MY made its grand world premiere, showcasing a design that prioritizes entertainment, volume, and smart Mediterranean-style living. This comprehensive look at the vessel is based on an in-depth walkthrough by Multihulls World, detailing how this boat evolved from its predecessors to become a true "entertainment center" on the water.
Redefining Space: From 50 to 56 Feet
The Aventura 56 MY has an interesting history; it is an evolution of previous designs known as the A10 and A50. To create this new flagship, the builders took the existing 50-foot mold and extended it by approximately six feet. While extending a boat can sometimes lead to odd proportions, the Aventura 56 MY maintains a sleek, intentional look as if it were designed at this length from the start.
This extension has resulted in a massive increase in usable deck space, particularly at the stern, where a giant platform serves multiple purposes—from a lounging area and easy water access to a practical storage spot for a dinghy.
Outdoor Living and Entertainment Hubs
Designed specifically for hosting large groups, the Aventura 56 MY features several distinct social zones. The aft cockpit is dominated by a large dining table that can easily accommodate 10 guests, with the potential to fit up to 14 people with additional seating. To ensure safety for families and guests, smart little gates can block access to the aft platform when needed.
The forward deck is equally impressive. Unlike many boats where the bow feels disconnected, the Aventura 56 MY maximizes this area with two small tables and large lounging pads on both sides. This "forward cockpit" extends nearly to the end of the hulls, ensuring that almost every inch of the boat's footprint is dedicated to passenger comfort.
Innovative Design for Comfort and Safety
One of Aventura's signature features is the "shade maker" overhang. This architectural element provides natural shade around the main salon and galley windows, significantly delaying the need for air conditioning in hot climates. Additionally, these overhangs double as secure handrails when moving around the deck. Safety is further enhanced by exceptionally high railings, reaching nearly hip height, which provides a great sense of security while walking along the sides of the boat.
A Look Inside: Luxury Cabins and Panoramic Views
The interior of the Aventura 56 MY is characterized by its 360-degree visibility in the main salon, where only the refrigerator provides a minor obstruction to the view. The version showcased features a five-cabin layout, demonstrating the boat's capacity for large families or charter use.
- The Master Cabin: This cabin is a highlight, featuring a bed positioned at the exact height of the large hull window, allowing for incredible views of the water even while lying down. It also includes a full dresser, a workspace for remote enthusiasts, and modern touches like USBC chargers by the bed.
- Storage and Finish: Aventura performs all cabinetry in-house, which allows them to optimize every available gap for storage. This results in a clutter-free environment with drawers and closets integrated throughout the hulls.
- The "Hidden" Cabin: A unique feature of this model is a cabin accessed directly from the aft cockpit. With its own ensuite bathroom, it is an ideal independent space for teenagers or a very comfortable crew cabin.
The Flybridge: A Gigantic Social Space
The flybridge is accessed via a comfortable, L-shaped staircase equipped with handrails for safety. Once upstairs, the scale of the boat becomes even more apparent. The flybridge features:
- A gigantic aft sunbed for lounging.
- A dining table even larger than the one in the main salon, capable of seating up to 14 people.
- A hardtop with an opening option to customize the amount of sun or shade.
- The primary helm station, which offers excellent visibility forward and plenty of seating so the captain is never lonely.
Power and Performance
To move this massive platform, the Aventura 56 MY is equipped with twin Yanmar 550 hp engines, which is the maximum engine size offered for this model. The engine rooms are impressively spacious, providing enough headroom for a person to stand comfortably, which makes maintenance much simpler for the owner or crew. With dual helm stations—one in the salon and one on the flybridge—and integrated bow thrusters, the boat remains manageable despite its 56-foot size.
