Two years after the initial launch of the M8, Prestige has introduced the M8 Evo, a refined version of its flagship power catamaran that emphasizes a cleanup of design and a commitment to extreme versatility. In a walkthrough provided by Multihulls World, Alessandro Tolini, Product Marketing Manager for Prestige’s large units, explores how this evolution transforms the onboard experience through smarter space distribution and semi-custom flexibility.
The M8 Evo features significant updates to its exterior profile, aimed at creating a more streamlined and modern aesthetic. The design team implemented cleanup operations, resulting in two very slim window lines along the hull. Additionally, the vertical supports for the hardtop have been redesigned to align with the M7, fostering a consistent family feeling across the M-Line range. These changes are not merely cosmetic; they enhance the overall flow of the yacht's exterior surfaces.
Reworked Main Deck Layout Maximizes Space and Functionality
One of the most impactful changes in the Evo version is the removal of the internal staircase, which previously occupied valuable real estate on the main deck. This structural change allowed Prestige to totally rethink the interior spaces. On the starboard side, the yacht now boasts a huge, redesigned galley featuring a double-door fridge and a new bar corner.
The helm station has also been relocated from the starboard side to a nearly central position, which further enlarged the galley area and provided enough space for a massive dashboard equipped with a full suite of instruments. Meanwhile, the dining area has taken center stage on the main deck, placed beside large windows to provide a formal dining experience with spectacular sea views.
Owner’s Suite Brings More Comfort, Privacy, and Practical Luxury
The master cabin remains the cherry on the cake of the M8 Evo, occupying the full beam of the boat. While the total area spans an impressive 20 square meters, the internal distribution has been completely re-evaluated. The cabin now includes a dedicated relaxation area with a sofa and an office corner for those who need a quiet, private ambiance to work while at sea.
Luxury is further emphasized by the inclusion of double dressing rooms, each measuring 1.3 meters. Perhaps the most notable physical modification in the owner's suite is the shower, which has been doubled in size compared to the previous version, offering a significantly more spacious and comfortable experience.
Semi-Custom Flexibility Defines the M8 Evo Experience
The Evo philosophy is centered on the idea of flexibility, allowing customers to choose different layouts, colors, and even furniture brands, such as the high-end Italian brand Talenti for cockpit sofas. The yacht offers multiple accommodation possibilities to suit different needs. For instance, the port side can be configured as two separate guest cabins in a five-cabin version, or transformed into a grand VIP suite featuring a walk-in closet and a private living area with a sofa and TV.
Furthermore, for owners who prefer more social space on the main deck, the M8 Evo offers a galley down configuration. In this layout, one of the guest cabins is replaced by a large galley and crew mess below deck, freeing up even more room in the main salon for lounging and entertainment. This level of semi-customization ensures that the yacht can be tailored to the specific lifestyle and wishes of each client.
