The Hanse 461 has returned in a completely new form, 20 years after the original model first found success. Unveiled on 17 July 2026, the yacht was developed with Berret-Racoupeau and combines the strengths of the Hanse 460 with new solutions for easy sailing, fast cruising and closer contact with the water.
Designed for effortless handling even with a small crew, the Hanse 461 allows all essential sailing functions to be controlled from the helm using one set of winches. A self-tacking jib is standard, while twin steering wheels improve visibility. Optional electric furling systems and secondary electric winches are also available, and the mainsheet is positioned on the coachroof to keep the cockpit open and uncluttered.
The hull has been developed to balance speed, stability and control. A high rig and generous sail area give the yacht a more energetic sailing character without reducing comfort. Owners can also choose different keel options depending on their cruising area, along with optional staysail, reacher and gennaker setups for use in both heavy and light winds.
Redesigned stern area and flexible interior layouts
One of the main changes is the redesigned beach club at the stern. The enlarged swim platform and ergonomic lounge seats create a larger space for swimming, relaxing and direct access to the sea. A new wet bar, available with an electric or gas barbecue, turns the cockpit into a social area, while an optional fixed GRP hardtop and several canopy solutions offer added protection from sun and rain.
Below deck, the Hanse 461 features a bright, modern interior with four large saloon hatches and a total of 26 ventilation openings. Owners can choose from several cabin layouts, including a master cabin with an island berth or two separate forward cabins. Different saloon, galley, guest cabin, utility room and storage options allow the yacht to be adapted for family cruising, longer trips or charter use.
A wide selection of woods, floorboards, fabrics and upholstery finishes adds further scope for customisation. Hanse says the model brings together the brand’s four pillars: Easy Sailing, Fast Cruising, Innovative Design and Individual Customisation.
The Hanse 461 is presented as a familiar name reworked for a new generation of sailors.
