The luxury yachting world has a new flagship. Originally launched at Cannes, the brand-new Van Dutch 75 recently made a spectacular appearance at the Palma Boat Show. In an video walkthrough for the YouTube channel Motor Boat & Yachting, host Hugo Andreae took viewers onboard this striking vessel. Five years after Van Dutch was acquired by the Italian shipyard Cantieri del Pardo, production has moved to a bespoke factory in Italy. The result is a 75-foot flagship that perfectly marries minimalist Dutch styling with exceptional Italian build quality, sporting a starting price of approximately €4.8 million (excluding VAT).
Exterior Design and the Ultimate Open-Air Entertainment Deck
The Van Dutch 75 is designed ground-up for Mediterranean entertainment. At the stern, an Opacmare high-low staircase aligns with the dock or lowers into the sea alongside a massive hydraulic platform. Tucked beneath the expansive aft sunbed is a tender garage built for a Williams 325 jet tender.
The cockpit features pale teak with white caulking and flush pop-up cleats that rise hydraulically. This open-air social zone boasts wrap-around seating, dining tables on heavy-duty stainless steel pedestals, and subwoofers. For entertainment, a giant flat-screen television descends from the hardtop, complemented by built-in drawer refrigerators under the seats.
A Striking and Uncluttered Foredeck
Access to the bow is granted through a windshield equipped with massive pantograph-style hinges that swing open and tuck away. This opens up to an enormous, completely flat teak foredeck.
Unlike modern yachts that crowd this area with seating, Van Dutch chose clean, uncluttered lines reminiscent of a classic Jaguar E-Type. The teak deck is interrupted only by three flush skylights and heavy-duty pop-up cleats with steel wear plates that protect the gel coat from rope friction.
Helm Station, Engines, and Technical Performance
The helm features triple seats with fold-down footrests, dual Garmin screens, and controls for the Quick MC2 gyro stabilizer and bow thrusters. Powering this 45-ton vessel is a triple Volvo Penta IPS 1350 engine setup. Although it runs on three engines, steering is simplified via a dual-throttle joystick system where the central engine acts as a power booster.
The triple IPS configuration drives the yacht to a top speed of 38 knots. At a cruising speed of 26 knots, it burns 12 liters of fuel per nautical mile, delivering a cruising range of 300 nautical miles.
Chic Italian Interior and Guest Accommodations
The lower companionway opens into a lounge-style salon designed like an elegant Italian coffee bar, featuring six sculpted stools, an espresso machine, and a wine fridge. To maintain the windowless exterior aesthetic, the cabin uses convincing, backlit LED faux port holes instead of real windows. Opposite the bar is a formal lounge and a galley equipped with a four-ring burner and a proper oven.
The yacht comfortably accommodates six overnight guests across three cabins:
- Owner's Cabin: Located on the starboard side with cream Alcantara ribbed panels and a minimalist ensuite with a black rain shower.
- Guest Cabin: Offers twin beds, distinctive wood grain, and an ensuite with a space-saving pocket door.
- VIP Cabin: Positioned in the bow with a low, knee-height bed that maximizes vertical cabin volume, accessing a shared bathroom that doubles as a day head.
For crew operations, a vertical ladder in the cockpit leads to a functional crew cabin with bunk beds, a washer/dryer, and a private ensuite bathroom.
